The CEO SleepOut

The CEO SleepOut was not only an awesome project to work on but it was a truly a humbling experience. Through the app and website The CEO SleepOut raised over R20 million for the homeless. We got to brush shoulders with some of the most successful and influential people in South Africa. For my first iOS app (second Android app) it surprisingly went off without a hitch. Push notifications worked perfectly notifying people of the different activities on the night and the virtual wallet was very cool to see in action. There were a few users I had to assist on the night with resetting their passwords and showing them all the features of the app but it was definitely a huge success!

TraumaCall

TraumaCall was my second iOS app. Using what I learnt from building the CEO SleepOut app and a lot of stackoverflow, I built an app where users can order Trauma counsellors right to their homes. They can track the counsellors on their way to their house, similar to Uber.

Wiza

Wiza is a tripadvisor/zomato styled app where users search for and rate schools. Schools pay a subscription fee in order to reply to users reviews or message users directly. I really got to test my animation skills with this app from subtle sliding animations when selecting an item, to a clean transition of the header when a user scrolls.

Stuttafords

In 2016, I took over the support and maintenance of the Stuttafords iOS and Android operating system. This app used the ionic framework as well as angularJS.

GoHello!

GoHello! is a monster of an app and by far the largest app I have ever worked on. We took over support and maintenance of this app at the same time as the Stuttafords app. GoHello! lists bars, restaurants and special events in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town. Users can view these places and review them. We have had to do quite a bit of support for this app as it was built in 2015 for iOS 8 and a lot of the packages/scripts became deprecated.
